There are many ways to donate your time and skills! We serve hundreds of children each year, and are in need of volunteers who possess a variety of skills . As a result, we can probably find a job that is important to us and would be fulfilling to you.
Please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more information.
We could specifically use your help in the following:
Camp Fire After School Clubs
Camp Fire connects youth with caring adults in a variety of ways and we are always looking for parents or community members to get involved. Parents/guardians or other interested adults, who have an interest and enjoy working with youth can volunteer as Camp Fire club leaders and helpers. Volunteers need the ability to communicate and relate to the age group involved, plan and hold regularly scheduled meetings with a club, and attend club leader training. Camp Fire staff will provide training and support to all club leaders throughout the club year.
Summer Camp Volunteers
Our summer camp program at Camp Glen serves many area children each year. We are always seeking mature people with experience in camping, backpacking, orienteering, archery, challenge courses, canoeing, fishing, music and song, dance, theater, arts and crafts, gardening, and team sports would be welcome for a day, a week, a month or the summer.
School Day Out Volunteers
Throughout the school year Camp Fire offers programing for youth when school is not in session. School day out programs are a safe place for kids to come while parents still have to work. Volunteers would assist Camp Fire Staff with planned activities and be a positive adult in the life of a child. Come be a friend for a day.
Throughout the year Camp Fire Northwest Ohio holds special events in the community. We are always looking for volunteers to help bring these events to life. If you are looking to give back to the community but do not have a lot of time to commit volunteering this is a great way to give back.
With almost 12 buildings to maintain and a dynamic development program, we can always use the help of skilled contractors, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, tilers, pavers, earthmovers, foresters and other skilled and semi-skilled experts. We also have the regular need for unskilled workers for many important jobs.
-Surveyor. We would like to do a survey of our 100 acre camp, so we can develop trails and remote campgrounds.
“It has been exciting to help Camp Fire make a difference in a child’s life – there are so many marvelous things going on, from the Camp Glenn nature experience and high ropes course, Safety Town program, in school and after school programs and so many more opportunities for a child to develop their highest potential and make a positive difference in their lives.” -Lee Hitchings (Hitchings Insurance)
Our board of directors maintains a number of vital committees that move our program forward. Each can use professional assistance:
-Fundraising Committee can use help in many areas, from online research to grant and letter writing.
-Marketing Committee can use volunteers experienced in public relations, marketing, advertising, Google Adword management, and related activities.
-Finance Committee needs accounting, finance, audit and banking skills.
-Administration. We can always use capable office managers and business administration executives.
“It has been a great opportunity and honor to serve on the Camp Fire of Northwest Ohio board. I have been able to meet and create new relationships through out the community, which in turn has helped me grow my business. I also love helping the youth in our community and serving on the board has given me that chance. This was the first board I have served on and I am very grateful that I took the opportunity because it has been a life changing experience for me. I want to give a big thank you to all that have served and worked with me at Camp Fire and I would recommend that everyone serve at least once to see all the amazing things Camp Fire offers.” Jameson Botimer ( Owner of Legends Steakhouse & Sports Bar)
