Powered and Pumped is an Engineering Design Challenge (EDC) from NASA Glenn Research Center for middle school aged youth! Girls and Boys will compete against each other to design, build, and present a solar powered water transportation system. Boys and girls will work in groups of up to four while being mentored by Camp Fire staff and local STEM professionals for 10 weeks to complete their EDC and create a presentation to submit to NASA Glenn Research Center. Professionals from NASA Glenn Research Center will provide support and assistance via video conference. This program is open to all middle school age youth! Cost of the program is $40.00. Financial assistance available.
This EDC will provide participants with valuable critical thinking and problem-solving skills while promoting a growth mindset that is critical for creating successful life-long learners. Participants will be mentored by trained caring adults in a safe environment while they develop and strengthen their 21st century workforce skills.
